Zara Sofia's First Birthday Party!

Thursday, September 20, 2018

MY BABY GIRL IS ONE !!!!!

It really feels like just yesterday that I gave birth to you. (labour story blogged here!) Now you're this precious cutesy girl who understands the world around you a lot better as days go by which makes my world a whole lot better than ever before!

You know, before I was a mom, it baffles me seeing some parents going crazy over their kids' first birthday celebration. Some I know even spend extravagantly for a party their kids won't even remember.

When I became a mother. I started thinking about my firstborn's birthday party way before she was even born :p Who am I kidding.  Mom guilt is real and I don't wish to be haunted for eternity for not having a birthday celebration for my firstborn's first birthday. So yup, I ate my own words big time lol

Anyhoots, after much thoughts, Danna and I agreed on a simple shindig with little decoration, at the comfort of our home. I just rented a few items from Carousell to make the dessert table a lil #instagramworthy  & sent out less than 30 invites for our family and very close friends only!

Selamat Hari Lahir Zara Sofia!

Mini's Play: Aquarius Cove

Wednesday, September 5, 2018

Ever since my first (and huru hara) play date with Liza and her cutie Alisha some months back, I've been looking forward for Mini to start walking so that we can enjoy playing out together. After seeing how much she (and her mama lol) enjoyed the indoor playground at Changi Airport (blogged here)  and espesh now that she's running all around the place, it's time to plan another play date!

This time round we decided on........

29 Carpenter Street, Level 5, Singapore 059923

I love how super convenient this place is! It's directly opposite Clarke Quay MRT Exit E & Clarke Quay Central. Yoga Movement, where I used to do religiously practise my yoga during my before-Mini-exists-days, is just opposite. That reminds me that I need to get back to the mat reallllly soon.

Anyhoots once you locate the building, you got to enter a restaurant (can't remember the name!) to get to the lift. Once you've reached level five, you will see this.

The entrance fee...

Yup free play for Mini! We went on a Sunday so it was two hours of play time for us.

The place is divided into two parts...

The ocean-themed play area...

.. and the party area.

If you're planning to come here do be sure to check their website in advance to see if there's any party on that day cos if there is one, the playground will be closed

Of cos it didn't take Mini long to get herself comfortable.

Mini's Update - 11 Months

One more month before the big ONE.

Mini's Play: Singkids Teddy & Me

Thursday, August 9, 2018

Danna and I just love hanging out at the airport. That place never fails to bring us back to our past travel adventures and at the same time reminds us of our countdown to our next (110 days to be exact!) Plus point: It's just two bus stop away from our house.

The airport really is our happy place and recently we've found another reason to come here often...

& that's all thanks to Teddy & Me indoor playground for mini! Located at basement 2 at Terminal 3.

If I'm not wrong we paid $12 for mini and me, additional $ for danna and socks. Note to self : Next time bring your own socks so can save a few bucks!

Lucky for us there weren't a lot of kids around so it feels like we have the whole place to ourselves!

Didn't take long for this babygirl to love this place. (& mama too! Esp the slide:p)

So unlike her mama who is afraid of balloons...

Mini is started to take her first few steps now and her proud mama cannot help but squeal with delight at her baby's every step. Seeing her climbing without my help is really one of the best feeling ever!

In most pictures danna and I looked more excited to be here than our little one hahaha.

Big fat kiss for Ayah for paying for everythanggg :p

Here's to exploring many more indoor playgrounds together!

Mini's Update - 10 Months

Saturday, July 28, 2018

Monthly updates from now on is a two digit number. :')

I gotta admit, there are times when I look back at pictures of Mini and found myself having a hard time remembering what she was like as a baby. Perhaps it's due to the lack of sleep or juggling the love-hate relationship I have with motherhood, but somewhere along the line the time went by too quickly...

She used to hate tummy time when she was younger and now all wants to do is stand up all the time...

Can pose for camera already.

Once I left her alone in the living room while I clean up the kitchen. Got a mini heart attack when I came back and couldn't find her anywhere. Walked back to the kitchen and saw this -_-

It's been many months since we last put her in her baby rocker. Back then she can stay in there for hours staring at that thingy above her head. Oh if only I knew how simple it was back then....

.... WHEN SHE WAS THIS SMALL

OMGGGGG THIS WAS HERE SEVEN MONTHS AGOOOO WHYYY YOU SOOO CUTEEEEEEE I MISS YOU LIKE THIS!

Syawal 1439H In A Nutshell

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

So last year was my first Raya as a wife, this year is my first as a mother. An entire different experience, I must say. Baby boss had stranger anxiety on the first two weeks of Hari Raya and totally refused anyone coming near her, not even those who are passing her duit raya. She'd scream the moment Danna or I leave her sight. Tiring is an understatement when she just wants to cling on her parents and that means I have little time to sit and catch up with my cousins :(

But despite all that, it was a great experience for Danna and I. We enjoy seeing Mini being herself among kids her age (apparently that's the only time we can leave her by herself - when she has other friends around her!). & we sure had fun visiting our friends and family whom we don't get to see often!

As usual first house to visit would be my grandparents’ house. Our first Hari Raya without Atok. No one mentioned about it but I know we can all feel it in the air. :/

But one thing stays the same, new wallpaper every year for that house lulz. My cousins and I had so much fun doing our lil photoshoot around the house :p

Talking about wallpapers we also added one for our master bedroom and living room....

Issit new backdrop for OOTD? WE SO LUV IT.

Mini and Mama matchy outfits from Ariani.

I didn't want to alter the length of her skirt so I made her wear just her top. Purrrfect like a dress.

Selfie with my cousins! So glad I get to see all of them on the first day unlike last year.

My current favourite picture of us :D

Bliss beraya!

Okay I am reading through my past years Syawal in a Nutshell entries and realise this year's is sooo.. mundane in comparison lol. (blogged here) But I did manage to dig up some pics taken at the same spot on the same date. Every first Syawal for the past four year...

2015 : Our very first raya together. We got engaged 7 months before, just 4 months after getting to know each other 😛
2016 : Last raya as singles. Already got the keys to our house and our reno started on the 1st Syawal.
2017 : First raya as married couple! No more halal gap 😂 & I entered my third trimester on the 1st Syawal
2018 : First raya with our firstborn.

Alhamdulillah for everything

Mini Update - 9 months

Tuesday, July 3, 2018

Another super late post but better late than never!

Ramadhan 2018

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

I honestly thought I would have more me-time over the holidays to update this space here but evidently from my lack of updates, I was so wrong. No more me-time now with a baby in tow (spesh an active one!)

Admittedly, I've also been super lazy and unproductive for the past four weeks at home. Lucky me Ramadhan falls on the last week of the school term so I can stay at home most of the time. I've been doing nothing but catching up on Netflix series (13RW Season 2 Y U SO DISAPPOINTING) and spending 80% of my time on bed everyday with the Mini like this.

Ahhh miss that girl already. Can't wait to go back home and romos her!

Anyhoots, Ramadhan is over now. (sobs!!) A very special one cos it's the first year Danna and I are celebrating it with our firstborn. Never mind the fact that I was dead on my feet every single day, starting my day very early and having very little hours of sleep. I really wonder how SAHM do it, cus staying at home was not a healthy choice for me.

A few highlights over the holy month for memory's sake.

Finally get to meet up with my poly girls over at Noriz's house. Been too long since we last get together, just like the good old times. Just realised we have been friends for a decade already!

My BFFs came over to my place for iftar and of course all attention goes to these three cuties. While the guys were busy playing their Fifa, we ladies get to spend our time talking about anything and everything inside Mini's room. Definitely missing our oppa Hariz who's in Abu Dhabi. Can't wait for our Raya reunion!!

Just like last year, our jalan-jalan cari makanan bazaar experience is not complete without a trip to KL. It was Mini's third time on a plane and I'm glad she's so much easier to handle now. Next trip we go somewhere far kay!
