Syawal 1438H In A Nutshell

Wednesday, July 19, 2017

The only reason why I'm excited for this year's Raya - first time celebrating it with a husband! :D Donning the outfits we bought from our trip to KL during the fasting month. Khatam on him and Ariani+Naelofar on me.

Planning the houses to visit on the first day for this year was a headache for us at first cos our elders are scattered all over the different parts of Singapore. Unlike my single years where my first day of Syawal was all about visiting just two houses, now the list on my must-visit just for Day One seem endless! T_T

My darling family. Months before I got married, I always imagine how difficult my life would be going through Ramadhan without them living under the same roof as me. (you knowww I don't can't cook) Many times, I even cry, terrified at the thought of it. Turns out the reality is totally far from that! In fact I'm so thankful I moved out right after my wedding. I've learned so much through the many mistakes I made and I'm pretty sure the single-me would never have thought I will be the person I am today.
My maternal grandparents, aunties and uncles. Not forgetting that cute baby cousin of mine. Oh and my aunt just popped her babygirl last week! My baby Aryan is a big brother now so cuteeeeeee.
Isit this is how our Raya pictures will be like next year?:p

Sadly I didn't get to meet my paternal families on day one cos it's all about my in-laws right after! Can't remember the number of houses we visited but all I remember it was almost midnight when we took this picture. My poor body was begging to shut down by then. T_T

Oh check out my cutesy envelopes! So sayang nak give out seh.

On day two, our doors were opened for families to visit - finally!

The spread of good food prepared with love by my parents. So thankful for them!

Can't get enough of this cutesyyyy.

Initially we planned to have a separate day for our families and friends for our open house. Really grateful we thought of this cos now we can totally forget about having the latter! Penat level 980979 lah eh buat open house!! The next day was a working day some more, plus for me it was back to work after a good three weeks of rotting at home so it was double the boohoo.

Hari Raya cards designed by yours truly for all the 150+ staff at work!

Danna and I didn't do much visiting cos on weekends we were really busy hosting families and friends over at our home sweet home. However we managed to set aside a day to jalan with the Bliss family!

Brick wall = Wajib take picture. hurhur

achaaaan!

Kids, kids and more kids.

Pretty much sums up my Syawal for this year, my first one with Danna.
Pretty sure next year is gonna be a whole different experience... :)

xoxo, N
