Choosing Our Contractor/ID

Saturday, May 28, 2016

I'm so thankful the kareshi is in the driver seat when it comes to dealing with our home related stuff.

While I'm all out for our wedding preparations, he helps sources out for home appliances at various places in and out of SG to make price comparisons and also arranges meetings with different IDs, often without me because his working schedule is more flexible.

All I have to do is to give approval and then pick the colour I prefer. Lucky is meeeee :D

After we have a clear goal of what we want and need to do with the house, we started our search for a reno contractor - just one week before our home keys collection lol. I know of people who actually started their ID selection process or even select one, years before they got hold of their keys.

So yea, obviously we're not as kiasu. hehee

Since we're both clueless on this whole renovation thingy, the kareshi started by submitting an enquiry for renovation quotation on Renotalk. It didn't take long for the companies to get back to him and arrange for meetups at his convenience. We totally lost count how many we've met so far, but let me tell you this :  the process is e x h a u s t i n g.

Generally, all the IDs we met are pretty alright in the sense that they're not pushy or tell us a straight no when we tell them what we want. They don't give a f-face when we tell them our (low)budget. All except for one, who shoved his ideas without even asking us, the home owner, what we want. He keeps going on and on how a house must have a WOW effect yada yada and judging from his proposed ideas it'd probably blow over our budget by three times -_-

Here are the top four that made it to my fav list:

Getting Our House Keys (Part 2)

Monday, May 23, 2016

I had wanted to share the entire process from A-Z of what went down on the day the kareshi and I collected our home keys but it has been three weeks now and my memory has sadly failed on me -_-.

However, if you are interested to know what to expect/do during your keys collection day, here are some blogs I found really helpful to prepare me for the day~ Click here and here.

In a nutshell, the whole process was pretty straight forward and it took us slightly more than an hr....

...before we say hi to our home keys and bye to CPF money!!! T_T

The lame sticker is there to cover my hand that can be seen in this pic lol.

Countdown #6

And so, everyone's favourite question to ask me every time they see me now is....

"How's your wedding preparation going?"

Truth be told, ever since I received my house keys I've been obsessed with anything that has got to do with my home! Like I don't even care about my vendors updates anymore, unlike previous months when weekends = searching for my vendors every few hours on IG for updates and stalk every single picture under the couples' hashtag. Now all my time is dedicated to Taobao, all day all night, so where got timeeeee~

Talking about vendor, check out this awesome video by our chosen videographer.

omg don't know about you but I LOOOOVE IT SO MUCH  ♥_

Anyway some weeks back, my bridesmaids and I went for a hunt for the purrfect top.

We finally found one that everyone likes after trying out every single white top we see LOL

Just need to buat kain and it's all settle the kettle.

Other stuff that we need to settle in the next few days - #1. Make use of the  upcoming long weekends to design my invitation cards. #2. Meet our deco vendor next week for a site recce and also to discuss the theme we have in mind.  #3. Pay deposit for venue.

Quite honestly the kareshi and I are feeling mehhh~~ with this deco team because we don't really like what we see on their IG nowadays. Plus they always take days to reply my simple text messages which require just a yes or not answer -_- #turnoffx1000000

In case you didn't read the previous paragraphs properly, allow me to write it clearer in bold..............

WE HAVE FOUND THE WEDDING VENUE!

like finally.:D

Yoga Anniversary

Monday, May 9, 2016

This morning I received an email from Yoga Movement wishing me a happy anniversary. So cute, my boyfriend should totally learn from this *cough*.

Anyway, it has been a year, really!?!? A year since I awkwardly stepped into a yoga studio, did hot yoga for the very first time and almost died after ninety minutes which seems like ninety million years. A year since I first hear words like vinyasa and savasana (list goes on!) and wondering what the heck I've signed up for. A year since I blogged this.

Last but definitely not the least, a year since I fall in love with Yoga.

That was so... fast. Too fast!

My one year journey with yoga is amazing. I've learnt so many things I never thought my body could ever do. If you tell me I can do head stands last year, it would totally make it to joke of the century list. I mean seriously, I can't even bend and touch my toes back then! Not like I'm a pro now but if I were to compare with my 365-days-ago self, I'm a totally different person!

One of the first few poses I learned is the bakasana, also known as the crow pose The first time I attempted this pose I turned Humpty Dumpty and felt flat on my face lol. Countless practices (by stepping on my brother's stacked books first hehe) lead me to this...

weee hooo!

Another one of my all time fav is the mermaid pose.

And here is my current obsession - backbends!!!! Especially the kapotasana.

In the King Cobra pose.  Slowly but surely em toes will touch my head!

Who knows one year later can do King Scorpion already? hehee.
